What is the purpose of the role?
The supplier management lead will be an IT service management professional with responsibility for supporting the supplier management framework and all associated activities.

You will be involved in continuously improving our service for our current and future long term vision.
What will this role involve?
The Supplier Management Lead responsibilities:
Support the supplier management framework and support supplier management lifecycle processes and ensure that the supplier management process is consistently followed and that full process compliance is achieved.
Support the maintenance of supplier contracts and information within the supplier and contract management information system.
Service management – You will support other service management processes and activities to support the delivery of BAU including incident management, event management, problem management, change management, capacity management, continuity management and availability management.
Supplier management reporting – You will support the provision of regular, transparent and accurate reporting on all Supplier Management activities against agreed KPIs and performance criteria.
Financial management of suppliers – You will support, consolidate and renegotiate supplier opportunities to ensure the best service and financial outcomes for the business.
Risk management – Work in collaboration with the operational risk and compliance manager to identify risks and issues that arise from the supplier management process.
Continuous service improvement – Assist in developing and making recommendations and own supplier management CSI activities to improve overall process delivery.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with a significant amount of experience of supplier management experience adhering to ITIL/ITSM standards and at least two years of team leader’s responsibilities. Essentially, you will have an ITIL v3 foundation certificate. You will have experience working in an IT operational environment. You will have ITIL intermediate service and agreements or BSC certificate in supplier management. You will have experience working in an IT operational environment and the ability to deliver continuous improvements against agreed criteria and measurement of the successful outcome. You will be used to working with a team spread over multiple locations, have broad knowledge of supplier management, customer service techniques, initiative, IT operations management and stakeholder management. You must be good at planning, communication and presentation skills with the capability to listen and influence.
Thames Water information and salary details
This role is based at our offices in Reading. We are offering a salary of up to £49,000 dependant on skills and experience.
