What is the purpose of the role?
The Field Operations Manager is responsible for leading and developing a team of Field Operatives to deliver excellent customer service and operational performance across the Thames Water clean water network. As the Field Operations Manager, you will split your time between the office and the field with your team, enabling you to provide direct support, engagement and performance management both as a team and on a one to one basis. You and your team will be the face of Thames Water as you'll be working directly with customers and stakeholders on a daily basis. Therefore, acting as a role model and ensuring the team behaves in a manner representative of Thames Water's company values and professionalism is critical.

What will this role involve?
Performance managing a field operations team to deliver operational performance and customer service targets.
Monitor and driving performance against key metrics to make sure all work is responded to in timely fashion.
Lead and develop technicians by setting measurable goals, holding team meetings, one to one’s, completing PDR process and creating individual development training plans.
Promote a culture of engagement and motivation within the team.
Conduct regular site visits to assess the quality of work being completed by your team.
Take team responsibility for safe working practices which comply with company procedures.
Identify and support the implementation of new initiatives to drive operational efficiency and customer service improvements.
What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will have experience in leading, developing and performance managing a field based operatives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are vital for this role and you must have an exceptional standard of organisation. You will be fully competent in use of Microsoft Office as well as planning and reporting software. Formal leadership and management qualifications are desirable (but not essential). Knowledge and understanding of the clean water network is crucial as you will be working on the network as well as managing the team. Previous experience of liaising with internal and external stakeholders is also highly regarded.
Thames Water information and salary details
This role is offering a salary of between £29,000 and £38,000 depending on skills and experience and will be based out of our Highworth or Reading sites, however travel around your geographical area will be required.
