What is the purpose of the role?
The purpose of the role is to provide technical support in the operation and development of high voltage and major low voltage electrical systems, including project management , capital delivery liaison and provision of risk and safety management expertise to operational managers and asset management within a defined area.

This role provides the individual an opportunity to become a recognised technical expert within Thames Water and have a major influence on electrical engineering and electrical safety strategy. The location for this role is flexible as the responsibility covers West London and the Thames Valley.
What will this role involve?
This role will involve, but not be limited to:
Providing technical support service to operational managers and asset management in the area of electrical systems operation and development.
Technical input to HV and significant / complex LV capital schemes, including high-level scope input and commissioning plan approval.
Identification, development and management of the delivery of small capital projects.
Development and governance of HV records management strategy, including SLDs, asset data, operational restrictions, operating manuals, schematics, protection and fault level information.
Ownership of HV site distribution development plans.
Undertaking HV electrical asset condition surveys & safety audits.
Fulfilling the role of Authorising Engineer.
Coach & mentor others to ensure continued and improved specialist capability.
Input to electrical safety and technical training strategy.
What are we looking for?
Approximately 6+ year’s recent experience in Electrical Engineering High Voltage field, a degree in Electrical Engineering or significant experience in design, operation and maintenance of High Voltage Systems. The successful candidate will have brilliant communication skills, as you will need to communicate highly technical information in a clear and concise manner. The successful candidate will have an understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes and their relationship to electrical power distribution systems. An understanding of Regulatory environment and the impact on the company. An excellent understanding of the Electricity at Work Regulations and their application to the business. Good understanding of risk management processes, procedures and systems.
Thames Water information and salary details
This role can based at Hampton Coal Wharf or any other appropriate Thames Water sites with responsibility to cover West London and the Thames Valley. We are offering a salary of up to £55,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
