What is the purpose of the role?
The Process Architect is ultimately responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Thames Water BPM Centre of Excellence and Process Architecture that will lead process discovery and design workshops, coaches process owners, measures and reports on process performance as part of a process transformation project.

This is a challenging and exciting role in which you will be paving the way for Thames Water’s Business Process Management Centre of excellence. You will be owning the new Business Process Catalogue and all the business processes to shape future design/continuous improvements projects of all Business units within Thames Water and ensuring continuity throughout.
What will this role involve?
Lead Process Transformation and Improvement Teams - Current and target state descriptions of key processes that are impacted by organisational strategy.
You will identify key processes requiring re-engineering / improvement.
You will create teams that will deliver process change that seeks to improve existing ways of working.
Build collaborative teams – You will identify relevant team members within Thames that work across the relevant business units to deliver BPM solutions.
You will also support the delivery office with BPM improvement skills that aid the timely delivery of BPM solutions.
Leverage BPM techniques, concepts and tools – You will make use of the existing BPM CoE to deliver process transformation and improvement projects.
You will also leverage and improve the existing ARIS process repository.
You will need to leverage and improve the existing BPM methods.
Identify improvement opportunities – You will suggest key process improvement solutions.
Provide benefit analyses of identified process improvement opportunities. You will also process architecture viewpoints describing current and ‘could-be’ states.
Advocate BPM Excellence - You will give presentations to the business articulating the value of BPM.
You will Provide SME expertise, advice, and thought leadership to the business.
You will also support the business in the implementation of BPM solutions by adhering to BPM methods.
What are we looking for?
Essential experience and technical skills – We are looking for someone with a Business, Economics, Information Systems, or similar. You will be a Certified Business Process Professional (CBPP)® from Association of Business Process Professionals International (or similar). You will have at least several years’ active involvement in BPM engagements. You will have several years of demonstrated leadership on small-to-medium process and performance improvement engagements. Essentially you will have working experience with a BPM toolset e.g. ARIS, Blue Works, iGrafix, etc. You will have BPM solution design and implementation management skills. You will be proficient in at least one recognised methodology e.g. ARIS House. You will be an expert communicator, leader and have the ability to influence senior stakeholders and colleagues with a strategic mind set. Desirable Qualifications, Experience and Technical Skills. Ideal, but not essentially you will have Continuing Education CPUs in Process Architecture topics. Lean / Six Sigma Black Belt certification is desirable. You will have years of active in process and performance improvement engagements. You will have the ability to plan and manage a full budget for a project schedule. You will demonstrate proficiency of BPM, Change Management and other methods that are part of a collaborative team including the implementation of BPM solutions. You will be an expert in the use of ARIS Designer / Architect and be an expert in process architecture definition.
Thames Water information and salary details
The role is currently based in our office in Swindon with required travel to Reading. This role will be moving to our Reading head office after the current project and offering up to £50k depending on experience with an industry leading pension scheme. We also offer 2 paid volunteering days per year.
