What is the purpose of the role?
The waste treatment planner is arguably one of the most important roles in the provision of our wastewater services. We are committed to safeguarding the environment and improving this precious resource for current and future generations, while also providing essential services to our customers. Forming part of the planning team, this role plays a key part in ensuring maximum completion and delivery is met. As the planner, you will be responsible for managing the maintenance plans and changing them as required, ensuring accuracy and balance in the plans at all times. You will host weekly planning meetings with the field team managers to communicate updates on plan progression and monthly performance, therefore, you must be engaging, flexible and possess the ability to influence key stakeholders as well as building rapport with the field teams and your schedulers.

You have direct responsibility for planning which is integral to the running of the department and make transformative changes to the way activity is planned and delivered.
What will this role involve?
Providing feedback regarding plan deliverability and implications of plan changes
Keeping the maintenance plan accurate through change requests and regular reviews of the data with the field teams
Identification of erroneous plans and their correction
Providing support to schedulers and field staff in determining work priorities and updating SAP where required
Analysing forecasted work volumes in comparison to resource levels in order to identify and escalate challenges in advance, when work volumes are likely to exceed resources availability
Releasing work and monitoring delivery of the planned maintenance to ensure maximum completion against the plan
Escalating poor performance to field team managers where required
Hosting weekly planning meetings Building and maintaining positive rapport with field and scheduling teams
Cancellation and reprioritisation of plans where required
What are we looking for?
Are you used to engaging and influencing third parties and stakeholders? Do you have a willingness to learn and are flexible and adaptable in your approach? Do you have a keen eye for detail and the ability to spot when things could be wrong? If the answers are yes, look no further!
We are seeking an engaging individual who possesses experience in working in a fast paced environment and has excellent relationship management and influencing skills
As well as this, you will have the ability to conduct analysis of data to identify potential issues and future scenario planning
You will have confident presentation skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience of SAP and Excel at an intermediate level is required for this pivotal role
Due to travel between sites, a full driving licence is required for this role

This role will be based in Reading sewage treatment works, offering a salary of up to £23k depending on experience and qualifications.
