What is the purpose of the role?
We have created a new role for an experienced brand manager who can help us challenge the traditional view of utilities and engage our customers around our brand purpose. Big changes are afoot in the industry and now is a really exciting time to join our growing brand team to help us boost engagement, be a customer champion and improve brand perceptions. The Brand Engagement Manager will define and deliver our brand marketing strategy, significantly driving up overall brand metrics.
What makes this role unique?
Our goal is to lead the way on how utilities engage with customers and deliver a step change in how people perceive and feel about us strengthening people's appreciation of, and interest in, water provision. This is a business critical role to extend our brand reach and engage our customers about what matters most to them.
What will this role involve?
Key responsibilities for the Brand Engagement Manager:
Support the development of our brand purpose and brand narrative, reporting to the Senior Brand Manager.
Help define and deliver our brand engagement strategy to boost brand NPS and satisfaction.
Oversee the development and execution of brand marketing activity and multi-channel campaigns – including working closely with our brand, digital, customer, media, stakeholder and internal teams to coordinate activity.
Identify and act on new brand engagement opportunities, including working closely with the Partnerships Manager.
Make sure we have a long-term engagement plan with clear messaging and activations built around the brand purpose and business priorities.
Work closely with the brand insight team to monitor success and identify actionable insight to inform future activity. Manage and develop the Brand Executive.

We are looking for someone with a solid brand and marketing background that can hit the ground running from day one. You will be initiative, commercially focused and be a champion for customers. This role is for someone who is highly strategic and creative, as well as passionate about bringing brands to life. Ideal candidates will have excellent interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to sell in new ideas and concepts. We are keen to hear from candidates who are metrics driven with strong reporting skills. You will strive to ensure everything we do is effective and delivers value. Excellent writing skills with attention to detail are essential.
Thames Water information and salary details
This role is based in our Head office in Reading, located close to Reading train station, offering a salary of up to £44,000 depending on your level of experience We have a range of company benefits including an excellent contributory pension scheme, childcare vouchers, and season ticket loans and paid volunteering days.
