What is the purpose of the role?

We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our wholesale market services department which facilitates the delivery of our business's new market obligations. We enable the sale of services to all companies licensed to operate in the water markets, this equates to over 400m of revenue that is managed within the team. As well as managing approximately 40m of risk associated with market compliance. You will form part of the market operations team who process service requests from retailers, ensuring the market data is up to date. You will provide essential management information, analysis, commentary & recommendations to enable the department or other customers to make informed business decisions. This will also include sourcing and maintaining data as a resource for future reference.

What will this role involve?

To be able to understand the operational and commercial environment we work in and provide management reports and presentations, collecting and analysing complex technical data with expert commentary, advice and recommendations, as appropriate.

Conduct research to find data to support the needs of the team or department and manipulate as necessary to provide useful information and ad-hoc reporting.

Design and deliver management reports by collecting and analysing complex technical data with supporting commentary.

Support management and team members with data analytics, providing relevant data modelling, forecasts and backlog clearance planning.

Carry out in-depth investigations of all market operations specific service requests, and provide analysis on volumes, productivity and SLA performance.

Compile, amend and send daily, weekly, &/or monthly reporting. Maintain, update and streamline market operations reporting packs as and when required.

Leading meetings, workshops and one-to-one sessions to facilitate and deliver reporting.

To be recognised across the business as a 'go to' member of the planning and reporting team, responding to or seeking answers to queries.

Support and coach less experienced colleagues to contribute to the development of the team.

What are we looking for?

Do you have experience with large amounts of operational data? Are you passionate and willing to learn? If the answer is yes, apply now! We are seeking a resilient individual with a strong analytical background and problem solving capability. You will have good commercial awareness, excellent initiative and the ability to lead where required You will be comfortable with using complex systems and Excel, including VLookup, pivot tables, formulas and graphical interpretations. You will have great communication skills to be able to interpret and translate technical information effectively to the appropriate stakeholders.

This role is based in Reading, with a salary of up to 28k depending on skills and experience.
