What is the purpose of the role?

'Property searches', part of commercial team within finance and business services, are currently seeking a Contracts, compliance and change manager to join our operations team. You will oversee the set up and negotiating of all property searches' contracts and on-boarding of suppliers, develop and manage frameworks used to ensure compliance against quality standards, understand and mitigate associated risks to the business and manage all necessary operational changes associated to bringing new products and services to market.

This role will have a wide breadth of responsibilities and influence including contract negotiation and review, stakeholder engagement, project management and line manager responsibility. Your time will vary between working with others to deliver small projects and stakeholder engagement as well as spending time reviewing detailed documents, largely working on your own.

What will this role involve?

Review, negotiate and set up any new contracts or extensions with our suppliers, working with our legal and procurement teams.

Keep up to date with, and understand internal policies and regulations relevant to our business, ensuring continued compliance.

Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or deal with any potential breaches.

Work with your team to analyse services & operational activities, daily workflow and practices to identity opportunities for continuous improvements.

Recommend and implement solutions to support improvements, ensuring that processes are documented.

Ensure property searches has the appropriate insurance coverage and terms and conditions.

Collate, understand and communicate any business risks, ensuring that appropriate mitigation plans are in place.

Identify and scope out the changes required to our systems and processes to bring on board new products and services.

Along with our technical lead, create and lead projects through to delivery.

What are we looking for?

Do you possess strong account / contract management experience? Are you comfortable with legal jargon? If the answer is yes, look no further! We are seeking a passionate & highly-experienced individual with a robust background in building and developing successful relationships with stakeholders. You will have great attention to detail, exceptional influencing skills and an ability to communicate / translate technical information to key stakeholders at all levels. Strong negotiation skills are essential; having CIPS would be advantageous. Experience in working in conveyancing or commercial teams would be an advantage as would prior compliance officer duties.

This role is based in our Reading head office, with a salary of up to 40k depending on skills and experience.
