What is the purpose of the role?
You will form part of our audit and assurance team who have a proven track record of developing staff and giving them the tools required to grow within the wider business. You will be responsible for enhancing our corporate risk management activities; supporting the business in optimising its risk management arrangements; developing a robust corporate compliance framework to drive forward our changing regulatory, legal and financial compliance and reporting activities; delivering the annual controls self-assessment process and managing the outcomes; undertaking high profile compliance reviews across all areas of our business; and establishing and embedding a corporate policy framework.
Key to our success is the integration of these projects and working with our stakeholders to deliver outcomes that support the business in achieving its objectives and meeting our external stakeholder obligations. You will be performing a critical role within the team and have responsibility for supporting the delivery of the corporate assurance activities and supporting the business with implementing and operating robust risk mitigation strategies. We are increasingly engaged with the business and with business change teams in developing and documenting control and compliance frameworks for new processes and new/changing obligations.

What will this role involve?
Developing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships with each business area, with all levels of staff up to and including executive and our senior leadership group.
Supporting stakeholders with ad-hoc advice and guidance on the design and implementation of controls to manage business risks.
Leading or supporting the execution of compliance reviews (2nd line of defence) and controls testing from planning through to production of a final report with findings agreed by all levels of internal and external stakeholders as applicable.
Liaising with other teams in audit & assurance and have input to plans for assurance reviews and controls testing and the design and construction of the annual risk-based audit plan.
Supporting the audit and assurance management team with development and maintenance of robust stakeholder relationships to support targeting of assurance activity at areas of highest risk.
Proactively contributing to raising the profile of audit and assurance to support delivery of insight and value to all stakeholders.
Supporting on audits and investigations as required to deliver flexibly within audit and assurance team.
What are we looking for?
Are you qualified within a risk, compliance or audit profession? Are you proactive and self-motivated with a probing, investigative and analytical mind-set? If the answer is yes, apply now! This role requires an individual with strong project management as well as excellent relationship management skills.
You must have first class communication and presentational skills, including the ability to communicate complex compliance issues to non-specialists and have a strong commercial awareness. You should be able to deal with ambiguity and change and have strong influencing and negotiation skills. Having a recognised qualification in one of the following disciplines would be advantageous: risk management, internal audit, compliance and finance.
