What is the purpose of the role?

The purpose of this role will be to provide expert knowledge and experience of sewage treatment processes to operations, capital delivery and other business areas whilst focusing on driving improvements through predicting, identifying, investigating and resolving issues on site, working closely with the operational team to deliver demonstrable benefits and efficiencies in cost and planning.

What will this role involve?

This role will require you to provide the business with expert waste-water treatment process knowledge and direction in order to achieve the following;

Compliance with regulatory requirements with minimal impact on customers.

Company-wide optimisation projects to reduce costs.

Identifying, prioritising and promoting through the risk process.

Developing, maintaining, improving and implementing standards.

Coordinating technical input for process activities within a defined geographic area.

Providing regular and ad-hoc reports as required for defined geographic area.

What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have a background of working within waste-water treatment processes and coordinating multi-disciplinary activities. An NVQ Level 3 process effluent and sludge, or equivalent, and extensive process engineering or relevant operational experience is essential. You will have good fault finding skills as well as the ability to work across departmental boundaries. Experience of managing projects and training/coaching staff is advantageous. Please note: Due to the nature of this role you must hold a full, UK driving licence.

Thames Water information and salary details

This role will be based at Farnham sewage treatment works in Surrey. We are offering a salary between 35,700.00 to 48,300.00 OTE depending on experience and qualifications. Our excellent salary package includes a competitive contributory pension and a wider benefits scheme which includes an annual pay review, child care vouchers, season ticket loans and loyalty awards for continuous service plus many more. Participation in a 24/7 out of hours standby rota will be required after a suitable period of training and assessment, for which you will receive an additional payment, which is included in the above OTE.
