What is the purpose of the role?

The trunk main manager is responsible for leading and managing a team of analysts to effectively utilise information from network monitoring equipment to protect our assets and ensure intervention when evidence of deterioration. They provide specialist technical support to the business, ensuring that the agreed compliance and service levels are achieved now and in the future.

Monitoring the largest water network in the country you will have a direct responsibility providing a service which is essential to the continued supply of water to our 9 million customers.

What will this role involve?

Monitor and report on performance against key performance indicators and other relevant measures, taking corrective action as necessary.

Manage the team to achieve agreed objectives, providing leadership and development.

Work with team to improve employee engagement and ensure there is a strong focus within the team on health and safety.

Implement business and technical developments to improve business performance.

Develop policies, standards, systems and processes and provide the business with guidance and support relating to trunk main and network monitoring.

Manage and develop key stakeholder relationships to improve business performance.

Apply commercial acumen in managing contractors and suppliers to deliver best value solution through an agreed programme of work.

What are we looking for?

Either graduate, typically with at least 3 years relevant work experience, or ONC/HNC or equivalent in field related to technical specialty typically with 5 + years relevant work experience is preferable. Corporate membership of relevant professional body desirable. Good people management and leadership skills. Good interpersonal and communication skills - written and verbal Fully competent at using the appropriate Company IT systems and Office software

Thames Water information and salary details

This role is based at Kemble Court, Reading and is offering a salary of up to 45,000 depending on experience. Due to the role requiring travel a full clean UK driving license is essential.
