What is the purpose of the role?
To manage the understanding and reporting of the company's security of supply, leakage, water balance and water use components. You will also be required to coordinate and report progress against the company's annual (ODIs) and five year (AMP) regulated performance measures for SoSI and leakage. A key part of the role is that of developing and promoting options to improve the robustness of reporting and the understanding of customer's water consumption. This work will touch on a wide range of areas within the business from leakage, metering and water efficiency to customer communication and billing, with the aim to use the findings to understand current performance and shape our longer term plans.

What will this role involve?
Being accountable for the integrity and robustness of the supply demand data, including water use, water balance and leakage reporting.
Assessing and signing off benefits from the programmes of work delivering customer side demand savings (behavioural, leakage, usage and wastage).
Cross company liaising with primary data providers to ensure timely and accurate data provision. Regulatory reporting of security of supply, leakage and the company water balances.
Monthly water balance production, including implementation of data improvements including those associated with Ofwat's new consistency reporting guidelines.
Preparing and presenting company reports for Ofwat, EA and other stakeholders, including the management of associated audits.
Coordination and management of improvements to data and processes to minimise the water balance gap and meet auditor's expectations.
Coordination and reporting of the 18 month rolling plans for security of supply (incl. water efficiency and metering) and water use studies, including the monitoring and mitigation of emerging risks.
Coordinating and monitoring the delivery of the 5 year plans for managing security of supply and assessing water Use.
What are we looking for?
You will be highly proficient in the analysis of data and the ability to interpret and present complex analytical data and relationships in a coherent and simple way. Ideally you will also have previous experience in reporting and presenting data for audit purposes. You should have the ability to plan well, with a track record in delivering to tight timescales. You will be enthusiastic and self-motivated, with the capacity to work effectively with many people and teams across the business. A good understanding of the regulatory environment and the impact on our business would be advantageous, along with a strong working knowledge of security of supply and the components of water use and the water balance. The ideal candidate will also be degree educated or have professional qualifications in engineering or environmental based subjects or equivalent.
Thames Water information and salary details
This role is based in Reading, Berkshire. We are offering a salary of between £35,700 and £48,300, depending on experience.
