What is the purpose of the role?
We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our wholesale market services department which facilitates the delivery of our business's new market obligations. We enable the sale of services to all companies licensed to operate in the water markets, this equates to over £400m of revenue that is managed within the team.
As well as managing approximately £40m of risk associated with market compliance. You will have full ownership of our current systems landscape and the impact these have on the dependant services and processes. You will be responsible for managing new requirements and change across BPMS (business process managing system), CRM, Middleware and DB systems, all under pinning our non-household activities & market operations. You will take ownership of any and all changes; which are commercially viable, which ones to process, and how this needs to be done; as well as the wider impact this will have on the business.
This strategic role will have the ability to predict future demand and act accordingly and in turn, will develop the process on how we can successfully deliver according to demand. You will be accountable for driving down overall costs; be responsible for leading & developing a small team and have strong engagement with the appropriate alliances, teams and stakeholders

What will this role involve?
You will be the authority in understanding the implementation of the Market Codes, and Data Catalogue in the Thames system environment.
Develop the approach and detailed plan including activities, resource requirements, schedule, quality assurance approach and integration with other developments.
Including managing a programme of system changes and plan of work which is agreed with the TTA, impacted business units and transformation & change to deliver system changes.
Manage system changes from requirements gathering through to implementation/ deployment of system change.
Responsible for tracking all the regulatory changes and requirements in terms of systems and data.
Responsible for delivering the required changes in systems and process changes which directly affects data Assess the overall viability of the investment in achieving the target outcome.
Including the develop business cases for system changes and obtain capital funding through submission of papers to the investment committee where required.
Develop "request for proposal" for projects/programmes along with the IS/TTA programme/project managers for TTA/SIs/vendors to respond.
The request for proposal will need to be created based on business demands and architectural guidance.
Monitor progress and take appropriate remedial actions as necessary, ensuring delivery is on time and meets or exceeds expectations.
Including monitoring the development of systems changes through the build and testing phases and support user acceptance testing.
Manage stakeholder relationships, monitor supplier compliance and ensure project output meets sponsor's expectations.
What are we looking for?
Have you got similar experience owning a complex systems landscape? Do you possess a proven track record of creating & implementing strategic projects? If the answer is yes, we'd be keen to hear from you! We are seeking an excellent leader and technical expert who has the understanding of demand management processes and delivery & release management functions.
You will understand macro level architecture, to shape the architectural vision for our market systems; and appreciate the pressure in delivering in a commercially astute environment. The systems you will be experienced in will be: billing, CRM, content management, integration buses and databases. Familiarity with modern network & security approaches would be advantageous. You will be organised, commercially aware, be an effective decision maker and be an engaging & effective communicator.

This role is based in Reading, with a salary of between £48k & £52k depending on skills and experience.
