What is the purpose of the role?

The scheduler is responsible for scheduling the planned and reactive work tickets for the field team. They manage the schedule and ensure work is appropriately prioritised, passed to and completed by the field teams. Ensuring any emergency work is appropriately actioned within time. In this role you need to understand how the scheduling process operates in the Click system.

This is a unique role as it forms part of a larger scheduling team. It is within clean water production.

What will this role involve?

Contact technicians/team managers to confirm the current scheduling status for all non-completed status work tickets.

Ensure field staff have enough work in schedule by planning their days.

Have a good understanding of how the SAP system interfaces with Click for scheduling & dispatch processes.

Liaise with the planner to understand issues with schedule and refine plan to reduce manual intervention.

Monitor urgent unscheduled priority work throughout the day, assign to resources and follow up with phone call.

Manage work which is unable to complete and follow up any actions.

Schedulers will have an understanding of the volume of work on a monthly basis and keep to SLAs and KPIs.

Active searching for jobs that cannot auto schedule, understand reasons and reassign those jobs to an appropriately skilled resource.

Telephone technicians to ensure that they know that a job has been assigned and dispatched to them.

Escalate instances to field team managers where it is not possible to contact the technician.

What are we looking for?

You will be working in a fast paced and changing environment hence we are looking for someone who can embrace the change and adapt to it fairly quickly. You will form part of a team of Schedulers. Ideally you will have some customer service experience and a good knowledge of IT systems (Excel/SAP). This role will see you engaging heavily with internal customers. You will be able to work under pressure to meet demanding targets and provide examples from prior experience of doing so.

The scheduler covers the hours between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. An understanding of work management processes and systems preferred but not essential. You will be competent at using the appropriate Company IT systems and Office software.

Thames Water information and salary details

This role is based in Reading, Berkshire and offers a salary between 18,000- 20,000 depending on skills and experience.
