Thames Water are about to embark on a very exciting journey to improve our IT services. You will be part of a new team creating our own in house multi-million pound ITIL service management framework. You will be involved in continuously improving our service for our current and future long term vision.
What will this role involve?
Support the delivery of the operational risk management framework and support and challenge risk owners across IT service delivery to ensure that risks are correctly identified, assessed and remediation plans are robust in order to bring the expected change in risk profile.
Help embed a risk management culture across all IT teams - mentoring and educating colleagues on risk management best practice.
Support the management of the operational risk management framework and support the definition of risk appetite for the service delivery function and the IT department.
Identify emerging operational risks and lead deep dive reviews of risks as required and design and develop a scenario definition and analysis process to ensure that key scenarios are defined and initial analysis conducted.
Risk management reporting - support the risk management reporting framework against agreed KPI's and performance criteria.
Service management - support other service management processes and activities to support the delivery of business as usual including, change validation, change management, service asset and configuration management, service validation & testing, release management, problem management, capacity management, availability management and continuity management/DR and CSI.
Continuous service improvement work with the CSI team to ensure identified framework deficiencies are remediated and risk management improvements are identified and implemented.
Stakeholder management - support developing key relationships within the business areas and the IT to support the management to all risk and stakeholders are fully engaged with the risk management framework.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with a degree level education, IT Certification and a significant experience in risk management. You must have membership of a professional risk organisation e.g. MIRM and experience of implementing and working with IT governance frameworks, e.g. COBIT, with a proven track record of designing, developing and supporting robust reporting solutions. The right candidate will have experience of assessing risks, which arise and the impacts to the business. Subsequently finding solutions, which work with business stakeholders. Experience of identifying and assessing the adequacy of controls frameworks and making appropriate control recommendations are key to the role along with the ability to communicate technical and non-technical information to audiences of various levels in the organization. Essential skills required are, hold knowledge and experience of risk methodologies,a understanding of IT governance, risk & control frameworks,computer skills with a good knowledge of excel, word and PowerPoint and data and MI analysis skills.
