What is the purpose of the role?
The supplier manager will be an IT service management professional with responsibility for supporting the supplier management framework and the supporting supplier management team.

What will this role involve?
The supplier manager responsibilities:
Manage the supplier management process and ensure it is delivered to the agreed level of performance to support service availability and oversee the on-boarding on new suppliers, supplier management meetings, renewal strategies, exit strategies and transitional arrangements across supplier relationships.
Build strategic relationships with suppliers, ensuring structured management is in place and the suppliers are appropriately engaged to ensure service excellence is delivered cost effectively.
Ensure that the supplier management process is consistently followed and that full process compliance is achieved.
Supplier management team: Manage and coordinate the supplier management team and act as the focal point for supplier management for the IT department acting as a the key contact and escalation point.
Maintain supplier contracts and information within the supplier and contract management information system.
Service management: Support other service management processes and activities to support the delivery of BAU including incident management, event management, problem management, change management, capacity management, continuity management and availability management.
Supplier management reporting: Ensure the provision of regular, transparent and accurate reporting on all Supplier management activities against agreed KPIs and performance criteria. Look at opportunities to consolidate and renegotiate supplier opportunities to ensure the best service and financial outcomes for the business.
Risk management; work in collaboration with the operational risk and compliance manager to identify risks and issues that arise from the supplier management process.
Engage senior stakeholders to obtain regular feedback on services and work with suppliers on continual service improvement plans.
Continuous Service Improvement: develop, make recommendations and own Supplier Management CSI activities to improve overall process delivery.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with a significant amount of experience of supplier management experience adhering to ITIL/ITSM standards and used to working over multiple locations as part of an outsourced arrangement. Essential qualifications we are seeking are ITIL v3 foundation certificate, experience working in an IT operational environment, ITIL intermediate service and agreements or BSC certificate in supplier management, experience working in an IT operational environment and the ability to deliver continuous improvements against agreed criteria and measurement of the successful outcome. The right candidate will be used to working with a team spread over multiple locations, have broad knowledge of supplier management, customer service techniques, initiative, IT operations management and stakeholder management. You must be good at planning, communication and presentation skills with the capability to listen and influence.
Thames Water information and salary details
This role is based at our offices in Reading. We are offering a salary of between £48,000 and £72,000, dependant on skills and experience. On top of our competitive salary package, you will also receive a competitive bonus, car allowance, private healthcare and an industry leading pension scheme. We also offer 2 paid volunteering days per year.
