What is the purpose of the role?
We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our Wholesale Market Services function which facilitates the delivery of our obligations in the competitive Retail Market for non-household customers. Leading the market systems and data function you will have responsibility for the performance and enhancement of market systems and market data flows that underpin a business unit with a £440m turnover, multimillion pound compliance risks and ambitious customer service improvement targets. The role will ensure that market systems and market data flows support and enhance front line customer service and revenue activities now and in the future and remain resilient and responsive to market and business change. You will ensure the business’s system and data integrity requirements are clearly documented and prioritised, detail the business case for change and establish clear expectations, timelines, deliverables and detailed functional requirements for internal and external delivery partners to meet. You will be responsible for leading and developing a dedicated team, integrating system delivery with business change and building effective relationships with key stakeholders to achieve this.

You will be joining a new team, in the early stages of its development and with a multimillion pound change project underway, providing an opportunity for you to shape its direction and deliver real customer service and business performance improvements.
What will this role involve?
Delivery of all market system changes, including fault resolutions, small enhancements and transformational deployments, from requirements gathering through building, testing, implementation and hypercare deployment and take appropriate action to ensure delivery remains in line with business needs and requirements.
Ensure dependencies with business change are identified and business leads are aligned with technical delivery timetables.
To ensure effective system continuity plans are established and tested.
To monitor and operate the flow of data between TWUL master systems, market systems and the market itself and ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently, and exceptions are monitored and addressed.
To establish a data integrity framework which establishes appropriate standards and metrics to assess the health our market data and drive prioritised and targeted improvement projects.
To lead, manage and motivate a team of business focused professionals deliver against all agreed goals.
What are we looking for?
Have you got similar experience leading talented teams? Do you understand Systems, appreciate of the importance of data, and their impact on the people, process and revenue? If the answer is yes, we’d be keen to hear from you! It is essential that you have an understanding of programme delivery lifecycles, partner selection, team leadership and talent development, data lifecycle, data ownership and the link data has to services. We are seeking an excellent leader who is able to go above and beyond the delivery of projects, who has proven track record of leading change in a complex and fresh environment. You will engage with all levels of the business, and have ability to translate technical language into understandable terms. You will be influential with strong communication & negotiation skills, for managing contracts & third parties and establishing effective stakeholder relationships. The ideal candidate will be from a similar industry / background and have knowledge of open water market codes.

This role is based in central Reading, minutes from Reading train station. We are offering a salary of up to £70k depending on skills and experience. On top of our competitive salary package, you will also receive a competitive bonus, car allowance, private healthcare and an industry leading pension scheme. We also offer 2 paid volunteering days per year.
