What is the purpose of the role?

As an Inventory Specialist you will be required to provide a professional outbound delivery of replenishment assets from our Distribution Centres to our Always Ready Hub locations, Strategic Hubs and Flood Resilience Locations. You will also provide a reverse logistics function in for returnable assets across all Thames Water & Alliance locations. As our ambassador in the field you will ensure that the sites/locations within your jurisdiction are “always ready to go” from our Always Ready Hubs, Strategic Hubs, Business Resilience Sites through to our Clean Tankers in order to support the operational teams when facing customer/operational incidences. You will also need to work closely with your respective colleagues to ensure that there are standard processes are in place and that these reflect the need to robustly deliver service continuity and respond to logistical events in a timely manner while continuing to delivering excellent customer service. You will need to create, maintain positive and collaborative relationships within the Thames Water family from service providers and the operational teams.

What will this role involve?

As the Inventory Specialist you will be: Responsible for the field site/locations within your jurisdiction and ensure the safe and efficient receipt, storage and despatch of replenishment inventory.

Maintain the fleet database, by coordinating the quarterly fleet audits and accurately updating the system with information received on time, with no errors.

Processing equipment orders/collections in-line with inventory processes

Complying with stock control processes and ensure that there are zero discrepancies for sites/locations within your jurisdiction.

Maintaining the inventory levels at our network of always ready hubs and flood resilience locations within the catchment of the parent distribution centre to underpin the Company's commitment to our customers in that we are always ready

Supporting the GreenTag process by working with the operational teams to drive the behaviours around re-use and recycle.

In addition to these duties, you may be required to undertake other duties in line with the needs of the business, where appropriate training provided

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an individual with at least 1 year experience of Warehouse and Inventory management, who is knowledgeable of warehouse & inventory management systems including the transport legislation and European Working Time Directive. To be successful in this role you will hold a valid driver qualification card and have a folk lift licence, additionally you will ideally hold a class 2 licence. You will have excellent communication and customer service skills and in addition have intermediate IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Thames Water information and salary details

This role will be based at our treatment plant in Oxford, Oxfordshire. We are offering a salary of circa 26,000.
