What is the purpose of the role?
The role of the licensing manager supports, manages, and administrates contracts for software and application services and products across the Thames Water business. The license manager will also define and facilitate communication between the enterprise and its providers in order to deliver software and applications according to plan and within budget, and to ensure licensing compliance.

What will this role involve?
The Licence Manager Responsibilities are:
To ensure an appropriate software licence management process is in place to support delivery of the required business outcomes.
To ensure that the licence management lifecycle/ processes are reviewed and audited regularly and that the agreed software licence lifecycle is followed for all service asset lifecycle activities.
To be operationally responsible for the software licence management lifecycle/processes that ensures all activities are appropriately carried out and all activities are within agreed contractual obligations.
To act as an in-hours point of escalation for software licence activities, manage the Software Licence Management resource and ensure stakeholder management is in place across the IT department.
To provide licence management reporting, and to progress the development of appropriate automation and tools to improve the software licence management lifecycle.
To support other service manager processes and activities continual service improvement is in place for all software licence management activities and execute additional tasks in order to meet departmental / team project-related, development and change objectives.
What are we looking for?
We need someone with education to degree level or equivalent experience with a certification in IT asset management concentrations (Software, Hardware or Mobile) from accredited organisations. You must have a significant amount of experience in software license procurement and management, IT management experience within an large IS department and experience with SCCM, SNOW or other IT asset management inventory and discovery tools. Essential technical skills - we are looking for are licence management, risk management, operational support environment, corporate, industry and professional standards. Essential competencies - we are looking for are decision maker with great judgement planning, organisation and strategic thinking. You must be self-motivated with attention to detail and an ability to deliver under pressure.
Thames Water information and salary details
This role is based at our offices in Reading. We are offering a salary of between £40,000 and £72,200 dependant on skills and experience. On top of our competitive salary package, you will also receive a competitive bonus, car allowance, private healthcare and an industry leading pension scheme. We also offer 2 paid volunteering days per year.
