What is the purpose of the role?

Leading a small team of technical experts, you will be responsible for ensuring that all teams across the water network business are aware of best operating practice and standards. Working with the regional network managers and their teams you will ensure compliance & data collection is being maintained along with looking embedding a culture of continuous improvement. You will also be responsible for the ownership and governance of the company’s key leakage management systems, overseeing the systems, data and process maintenance and identification, promotion and delivery of systems and data enhancements Managing a team of 3, you will be accountable for working with the business to develop and refine best practices, asset standards, operational standards and data integrity relating to Water Networks. You will ensure that an audit process is in place to monitor that the network is completed safely; to the right quality standards and that the correct data is collected in order to drive future development decisions.

As a critical position in the organisation, you will be helping to drive quality standards and data improvements across our entire field and back office teams, as well as analysing data to provide insight into how to improve the way we operate our assets to minimise impact to our customers and improve operational performance. You will also form part of the Infrastructure Alliance which is a partnership between Thames Water, Kier, Clancy Docwra, Morrison and Murphy and is a ground-breaking time for the water industry, so an excellent time to join and make a real contribution to the position.

What will this role involve?

With a proven track record of delivering similar programmes & activities, you will be accountable for:

Define asset standards to adhere too and communicate to regions.

Introduce and develop a continuous improvement culture across the alliance partners.

Focus on developing and improving our existing data sets to allow us to make informed interventions.

Overseeing & maintaining core operation systems for Leakage to include: systems, data and process maintenance, the identification, promotion and delivery of systems and data enhancements, systems training and the promotion of best practice use.

Roll out standards reviews across the regions, and monitor as required, working in collaboration with area managers.

Ensure all delivery partners have an audit process in place to report back to the business on development.

Work with the regional managers & alliances to ensure compliance is being maintained.

Ensure a programme is in place to update and maintain standards with necessary roll outs.

What are we looking for?

To be considered for this role, you will have demonstrable experience in delivering programmes of work across a wide region within a process driven role. You will be of graduate calibre and must possess exceptional data practices. Previous experience in a similar role is crucial, ideally within the Water industry. You will be a credible leader with strong communication & influencing skills at all levels of an organisation. Working experience in a contracting environment would be highly advantageous however previous experience in a heavily regulated and data driven organisation is key. You will have worked in senior management positions previously and will have team management experience. You must be able to balance the demands of team management, the field teams as well as being analytical and data driven in your approach in order to drive this department forwards. A full driving licence is required for this role.

Thames Water information and salary details

This role is offering a salary from 41,600 - 62,400. Please note the role can be based from Reading, Oxfordshire or a London based site however regular, weekly travel to our Head Office in Reading will be required.
