What is the purpose of the role?
We are currently seeking a dynamic sourcing manager to develop and manage multiple innovative and compelling solutions for our sourcing projects, to deliver best value for our business. You will proactively engage with stakeholders, leading and influencing multi-disciplinary teams through the compliant procurement process. You will deliver and implement recommendations that result in robust and sustainable sourcing solutions. With sound procurement knowledge, strong project management skills and an ability to challenge the status quo, you will be offering value driven alternatives that deliver positive outcomes for the business. Part of this role is to be accountable for establishing effective working relationships with both key stakeholders and the supply market whilst demonstrating our values and behaviours.

What will this role involve?
Sourcing Projects: The sourcing manager will lead strategy development for specific sourcing projects whilst ensuring that projects are delivered on time, achieving optimum risk allocation, best value and fulfilling customers' expectations. They will project manage and prioritise a number of sourcing initiatives effectively through agile project delivery and problem solving skills. A key part of the role is leading a multi-disciplinary team through the procurement process with full customer engagement and following our sourcing methodology. The sourcing manager will demonstrate that the following are effectively considered and managed through each initiative: sustainability, innovation, risk management, collaboration, health and safety and well-being. They will ensure that audit trails, document and information systems and all supplier information exchanges are effective, with robust confidentiality and traceability, in line with the procurement regulations.
Stakeholder Management: The sourcing manager will implement stakeholder engagement plans at an individual level and participate at team level, over a long period of time in a complex stakeholder environment. Building deep and trusting relationships is key, with an ability to engage and influence at senior levels. Work with stakeholders on the responsibilities for contract launch and prepare for handover to contract management team for in-contract management.
Communication: Create and deliver compelling, well-structured, accurate reports, documents and presentations. Interactively tailor the depth of communicated information for specific audiences and situations. Accountable for developing effective relationships with the supply market which generates positive and value driven outcomes; and fully accountable for creation of all sourcing documentation.
Data Analytics: Using their internal and external knowledge of data/data sources, the sourcing manager will work with the business analysts, suppliers and third parties on the timely & accurate information gathering process of risk and spend information and key insightful findings to prepare a comprehensive category profile.
Negotiation: The sourcing manager will apply a creative and agile approach to negotiation in order to deliver outcome (not cost) focused solutions whilst independently leading complex and sometimes challenging negotiations to a successful conclusion. Thinking creatively about variables that can be traded to optimise outcomes as part of a full negotiation plan/strategy is key.

We are seeking a resilient, tenacious individual, able to work under pressure and be comfortable in a position of responsibility, acting as a role model to the wider team and seek out & share best practice. You will be influential and engaging with your approach to stakeholder management; building trust in line with your confidence and ability to make decisive, informed decisions. Your projects experience will be within a complex multi-site environment, where you have had to be proactive in resolving potential difficulties and overcoming barriers. The ideal candidate will be qualified member of CIPS, a self-starter with excellent creating & delivery Excel & Powerpoint skills and analytical skills; with the ability to think creatively to solve complex challenges with low levels of definition.

This role is based in Reading, with a salary of up to £55,000 + benefits, depending on skills and experience.
