What is the purpose of the role?

The SAP utilities technical architect will work within the CTO / enterprise architecture team and is responsible for understanding business and developing solutions that meet these requirements. They will oversee architectural solutions as developed in individual projects or as a large delivery project and they will take responsibility for ensuring that the technical and functional solution is delivered as originally defined and fits with the overall architecture strategy.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to be involved in the implementation of a new retail billing system (SAP-ISU/Cloud for Customer) as the programme moves into the next phase, Spring is a best-in-class billing system and leading edge customer relationship management (CRM) system, it will replace our existing dated, costly, unsupported billing and CRM system (CIS and Merlin), This billing system is globally recognised as the system of choice for utility companies.

What will this role involve?

This role will be dedicated to the spring programme (delivering SAP ISU & C4C solution) and will help assure Release1 as well as actively help in delivering Release 2 / 3 and define a 3-7year roadmap.

Technical Skills:

SAP Enterprise Core Componen

SAP Industry ISU (or Utilities)

SAP NetWeaver ABAP and Java



SAP UI5, MCFU, Fiori and Gateway

Mandatory Technical Skills Required:

Shaping customer requirements into SAP solutions.

High-level of understanding Non-Functional Requirements and clarity in the mitigation of their impact on solutions.

SAP system sizing and landscape design.

Mandatory Business Skills:

Ability to govern and assure the technical delivery of high complexity SAP implementations.

Excellent communication, influencing and facilitation skills.

Clear thinking and innovative; able to think strategically at an Enterprise level.

Assertiveness in dealing with people at all organisational levels, including 3rd parties, while building and sustaining collaborative working relationships.

Ability to deliver under pressure.

Self-motivated with determination to succeed.

Strong leadership and customer facing skills to executive level.

This role is based in Swindon, offering a salary between 56,000 and 80,000 dependent on skills and experience. On top of our competitive salary package, you will also receive a competitive bonus, car allowance, private healthcare and an industry leading pension scheme.
