What is the purpose of the role?

The Spring programme is a major transformation of our legacy mainframe based billing system to use SAP IS-U and C4C.
The SAP Applications Analyst will have a broad SAP background with strong technical experience working with GRC. You will be ensuring maintenance planning and adherence to procedures for operating efficiency. You will be an experienced service professional with overall responsibility for the delivery of end to end BAU services. The role will ensure that all IT services are fit for purpose and support the delivery of defined business outcomes. This role will involve stakeholder management and requires the establishing and management of the service delivery expectations with business and stakeholders.

What will this role involve?

Stakeholder management and acting as a point of contact for business and stakeholders on BAU operational service delivery.


Develop key relationships within the business area and the IT department. Analyse business requirements and implements SAP security technical requirements.

Recommends and develops security measures to protect information against unauthorized modification or loss.

Work closely with both SAP technical and functional teams to ensure the success of the overall SAP solution.

Serve as SAP Security subject matter expert and provide advisory and consulting services as needed.

Functional implementation and operational knowledge of GRC modules: Process Control; ARM; ARA; EAMAssist in development, implementation and monitoring of GDPR compliant security controls within the TW SAP footprint.

You will be in charge of BAU service delivery, risk management, service management, financial management, supplier management, service level management, continious service improvement and service reporting.

Service Reporting – ensure the provision of regular and accurate management reporting on IT Service performance.

Provide a service operations interface for programmes, projects and partners delivering transformation and protect the operational environment.

Design, build and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements.

Collaborate with SAP Applications and SAP Basis administration teams to design and implement technical security solutions for SAP and associated bolt-on applications.

Work on support engagement and manage tickets, knowledge of SLAs / RCA.

The role will be based in our central Reading office but regular travel will be required to our Swindon office to work with the project team.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with a significant amount of experience in IT management within a large IT organisation.
Knowledge of SAP systems – ISU, C4C, PO, BW and GRC, SAP GRC Access Control hands on experience and excellent understanding of SAP security administration. Good understanding of control and compliance requirements and regulatory frameworks – audit cycles and expectations, segregation of Duties and knowledge of key business process are key to this role. All applicants must have experience of service delivery within a complex matrix IT operational environment with excellent interpersonal skills and experienced at dealing with stakeholders. You must have the ability to collaborate with other team members working remotely from various locations and strong technical foundation and problem solving skills.

Thames Water information and salary details

This role is based at our offices in Swindon Walnut Court. We are offering a salary of between 26,350 -35,650 dependant on skills and experience.
