What is the purpose of the role?
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and well organised manager to become part of our established third party recovery team. The successful individual will be responsible for managing the team on a daily basis and ensuring the team meets its key targets for cost recovery whilst coaching and developing the team and continuously improving the processes.
What makes this role unique?
The third party team is a unique team that is part of the award winning Supply and Logistics team as well as being part of the Thames Water family. The team actively pursue claims against companies who damage our assets, working closely with our operational and commercial teams with the core aim of recovering all our costs. The success of this team impacts multiple business units, allowing the money we recover to be reinvested in our assets. This is a great opportunity to join at a time when we are growing and expanding the Logistics Management Centre.
What will this role involve?
The day to day performance management of the team.
Mentoring and developing the team and assisting them with difficult cases as required.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the business as well as external third parties.
Ensuring that all parties understand their role in the third party claims process.
Updating our policies and processes, whilst always looking for continuous improvement in what we do and how we do it.
Responsible for ensuring financial targets are met and producing weekly and monthly finance reports.
Ensure the team maintains and develops current expert knowledge with regards to advances in the legal processes and civil protocol and working closely with the legal advisors on cases.
What are we looking for?
You will have strong team management skills. It would be advantageous to have water industry experience, preferably within the waste or clean network. Ideally we are looking for someone with claims handling experience and/or dealing with legal disputes. You must be numerate; detail orientated and will need excellent Excel skills. You will be well organised, able to prioritise numerous tasks and have excellent communication skill at all levels. Good working knowledge of Vistec, SAP and Navision would be advantageous but not essential as training will be given.
Thames Water information and salary details
This role is based at our head office in central Reading, Berkshire. We are offering a salary of up to £30,000, depending on experience.
