What you’ll be doing

To take a leading role in the Tideway Integration Group for the technical governance of systems integration associated with the delivery, commissioning and handover of the Tideway scope of works, as it delivers both new assets and interfaces with existing Thames Water assets. To ensure that the Tideway Main Works Contractors and Thames Water Contractors follow agreed designs and working methods to facilitate integration into Thames Water assets. To ensure that works directly or indirectly impacting on Thames Water's assets are carried out with due diligence, are compliant with water industry best practice and appropriate health & safety laws and regulations.

Main responsibilities will include:

Overseeing the assurance of the delivered main works scope as they interface with Thames Water assets to properly safeguard Thames Water’s operating systems and assets

Being responsible for the assurance of the Thames Water Projects interfacing with the Tideway project

Act as the Tideway Integration Groups expert on C&I/SCADA related issues, providing C&I/SCADA expertise to support the work of the Design Manager, Commissioning Manager and Construction Manager

Be a main point of contact for reviewing and providing timely answers to relevant technical queries raised by the Main Works Contractors and other parties

Support delivery of the highest standards of health, safety and welfare and undertaking health & safety best practice audits

Ensuring that the assets being provided by Thames Tideway for transfer to Thames Water are constructed to the correct standards and quality

Liaising with the Construction Assurance Engineers and Area Delivery Engineers to ensure that the Thames Water operational assets and resources are available to enable the Main Works Contractors works to progress as planned.

Assistance with the planning and delivery of the system commissioning activities

We’re looking for you to have

  • Extensive experience in site supervision with ICA/SCADA associated with sewers and pumping stations
  • Excellent knowledge of construction and health & safety practises associated with working on or near wastewater assets
  • Experienced in the inspection, witness testing and handover of constructed/installed assets
  • Able to accurately record the progress of works as the project progresses and escalate any concerns to the project team
  • Excellent practical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work closely with the client and contractors and be trusted to become an integral part of their team
  • Must have experience in Instrumentation and Controls, preferably in water and wastewater and process controls environments
  • Have a good understanding of the technical issues and features associated with site and regional SCADA Systems
  • Expertise in all documentation associated with systems integration as well as detailed knowledge of the requirements for training and handover requirements.
  • A working knowledge of other engineering disciplines would be an advantage, including electrical LV systems and mechanical equipment associated with wastewater projects.
