What you’ll be doing
Due to internal growth, we are looking for a Supply Interruptions Specialist. You will be responsible for leading in reducing Supply Interruptions (SI) through the means of their solid technical knowledge in Always in Supply (AiS) methods of mitigation in both planned and emergency activities. You will lead in requesting, managing, and monitoring AiS activities on the hydraulic system, ensuring optimum response times, and returning as many customers as possible back into supply safely and responsibly before we trigger a SI penalty.
Working closely with the logistic, network management, and planning teams to ensure the correct decisions are made and ultimately responsible for adhering to our “no regrets” approach to dispatching the appropriate AiS mitigation and managing the teams through the lifecycle of the job.
The role requires good personal and communication skills, technical planning skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to contribute to the improvement and implementation of best practices and processes. You will play a pivotal role in improving efficiencies across the department, the overall customer journey, and our ability to provide a value for money service.
This role and its responsibilities are critically important to the company at a time when the water industry faces unprecedented challenges from a Customer Service and Supply Interruptions perspective. Your key duties will include:
- Providing specialist AiS support to the wider business about Clean Water System risks
- Interrogating data from corporate information systems to assess and develop AiS solutions relating to Supply Interruptions (SI)
- Developing AiS mitigation plans that minimize customer supply interruptions, support regulatory targets, and reductions in customer complaints
- Supporting with AiS mitigation plans for inflight planned and reactive network activities
- Carrying out comprehensive Always in Supply (AiS) risk assessments
- Adhering to SLAs for AiS risk assessments for all emergency works
- Updating all tanker fill and infusion locations on the CIM SharePoint daily
- Tracking the benefits of the AiS mitigation from SI trigger to restoration
- Ensuring high quality and efficient communication with other 24/7 Clean Water Shift Teams and Clean Water day teams
- Gatekeeping information related to AiS updates and providing to key internal stakeholders promptly
- Ensuring all H&S parameters have been reviewed and approved before allowing work to commence into a live network
- Working as part of the Logistics Operational Control Centre team to provide flexible support across all logistics activities as required
- Ensuring compliance with relevant Water Quality and Supply Interruption regulations
- Maintaining continuous business awareness
- Building and maintaining knowledge of logistics business systems through continued use of relevant processes
- Supporting improvements of defined business processes and leading innovative new ways of working
- £24,353 to £30,000 per annum + 25% shift allowance, depending on skills and experience
- This position is based at Kemble Court, Reading
- 38 hours per week, 4 days on, 4 days off, 3 nights on, 7 nights off, 3 days on, 4 days off, 4 nights on, 13 nights off
What you should bring to the role
- Demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills
- Experience dealing with and influencing stakeholders at all levels
- Possess an analytical and methodical mind with exceptional attention to detail
- |Experience in incident management/incident support
- The ability to work under pressure to meet targets in planned and emergency scenarios
- Be highly organized, resilient and adaptable, and able to manage multiple responsibilities
- An awareness of business procedures and processes
- Previous experience of working a mixture of days and nights on a rotational basis
