What you will be doing

We are currently recruiting a project support network service technician. Within our Clean Water Networks

The purpose of this role will be to provide excellent customer service to our customers by undertaking operational tasks, resolving customer issues, and carrying out network valve activities with the least disruption to supplies. In addition to this, you will also support a range of major capital projects in and around the Thames Valley area.

As the project support network service technician, you will ensure the delivery of project work to support ongoing leakage delivery activities, ensuring that health and safety is always adhered to.

You will be required to carry out various network operations in the field to progress jobs to completion in an efficient manner – giving the best service to all stakeholders involved – contractors and customers alike. Key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Support teams on Pressure Management Maintenance
  • Supporting the installation of assets for new Pressure Managed sites
  • Installation of Zonal Meters and exchanges
  • Installation of District Meters and exchanges
  • Supporting large schemes on Trunk mains such as installation of new pipelines
  • The support of planned repairs on our Trunk Mains
  • Supporting our network upgrade schemes as they arise
  • High Consequence Valve checks on our Trunk Mains and high-impact network valves
  • We also support all reactive requests from our network colleagues, where possible, during reactive situations as they arise
  • You will be required to cover a standby roster to support our group's additional out of hours needs and Network Events

We are looking for you to

Our customers are at the heart of everything we do so previous customer service experience within a constantly changing environment is essential.

  • Be someone that has well developed clean water network understanding as well as a clear ability to demonstrate the ability to undertake these key roles
  • Ideally hold all current certifications that cover Water Hygiene, NRSW unit 2, disinfection, sampling, flushing, valve operations, CALM
  • The new License to Operate system is now in place and everyone who wants to work on the Clean Water network needs to work through the training programme and pass this accreditation
  • Have a clear understanding of the Permit to Work system
  • As the role involves driving to multiple sites, you must be a confident driver, as well as holding a full, UK driving licence
