We are looking for a Field Performance Manager to join Thames Water on a permanent basis.

You will be responsible for guiding and developing a team of skilled Mechanical, Electrical, and ICA technicians to safely achieve specific operational outputs to the required standards, within budget and deadlines.

  • Working hours: 38 hours per week Monday – Friday
  • Base Location: Beckton STW, East London
  • Offering a salary up to £54,600 depending on skills and experience + you will receive additional payment for participating in an out of hours rota

What you’ll be doing as a Field Performance Manager

  • Control and audit site activity, ensuring the safety of the team, contractors and other third parties through the consistent application of company Health & Safety
  • There will also be a requirement to respond to any operational events within the geographical area and deliver excellent customer service
  • The Field Performance Manager role is an important position which provides leadership and management to our frontline workforce
  • This role will allow you to support the development of Technicians and maintain a good awareness of the operational needs of Water Treatment Works
  • You will be managing teams with a wide range of operational and mechanical expertise
  • Field Operations Managers are people experts and will drive the performance of their teams, ensuring that health, safety, and quality standards are maintained
  • Developing strong working relationships with other Thames Water business units will be essential, as well as working with key framework contractors and other external stakeholders

What should you bring to the role?

  • Relevant experience working within Water or Wastewater treatment, or comparable industry would be beneficial
  • Qualification in Mechanical and Electrical or ICA
  • Have previous experience in leading a high-performing operational team and have excellent people and performance management skills
  • Demonstrate good business/stakeholder awareness, together with an innovative and creative approach to problem-solving
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to interact with your field-based colleagues and key stakeholders
  • Possess strong IT literacy skills as all work is managed through a SAP system, user training for this and other standard software systems will be provided
  • Take Care of yourself and others, we have a zero-compromise approach to Health and Safety at Thames Water, and all our employees must go home safe and well at the end of each day. Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation is essential
  • Existing knowledge and experience working within the Wastewater industry is desirable
  • Due to the nature of the role a full valid UK driving licence is required
