Thames Water is seeking a dynamic Non-Household (NHH) Metering & Data Services Lead on a Fixed Term Contract 13 – 18 months to drive our ambitious smart metering programme and deliver impactful results for our customers.
What you will be doing as the NHH Metering & Data Services Lead: You will lead the rollout of smart meters for our non-household customers, ensuring they are installed efficiently and effectively. By 2030, our goal is to have every business smart-metered, providing valuable data to support water conservation and reduce demand. You’ll work closely with internal teams, contractors, and external partners to deliver this critical programme, aligning with market standards and driving improvements in performance and customer satisfaction. Duties to include but not limited to:
- Supporting the NHH Metering and Data Manager delivering our annual meter replacement programme on business customers and ensuring NHH market SLA compliance and performance. Supporting the team with any other NHH Service Delivery request, such as our Digital Data Service or Meter Accuracy testing.
- Supporting on the rollout the correct smart meter technology aligning to our strategy and plans, to ensure maximum coverage and data availability. Monitoring NHH smart meter issues/performance and supporting improvements and our Digital Data Services offering to Retailers and 3rd parties.
- Supporting the NHH Metering and Data manager on managing our framework contractors including quality assurance.
- Working with our call centre, Retailers and 3rd parties to ensure an excellent customer service for our NHH programme delivery. Provide first response to escalations & complaints as well as root cause analysis on escalation, complaints and out of SLA reviews.
- Ensuring we have clear reporting of outputs and performance. Reporting using excel, power BI reports and data from corporate systems.
- Drive continuous improvement and implement new processes that improve performance and drive efficiency. Supporting implementation of changes to the TW service offering and implementing changes made to the NHH market code.
- Flagging risks and opportunities and raising Purchase Orders.
- Working alongside key stakeholders and teams for successful programme delivery. Support maximising the benefits of our pro-active meter replacement programme (e.g. Leakage, Long Unread, Water efficiency).
- Assisting with our legal process, to obtain entry to business premises to exchange or install meters, achieving our target of becoming 100% smart in AMP8.
- Ensuring zero compromise on H&S.
Base location: Hybrid - Worcester House, Langley SL3 6EY. The role will involve some ad hoc site visits.
Hours: 36 hours per week: Monday to Friday.
What you should bring to the role:
- Have experience in the water industry or a related field, with knowledge of metering and smart meter programme rollouts (at least 2 years preferred, but we welcome equivalent experience).
- Excel at building relationships and working collaboratively with contractors and stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
- Are skilled at managing multiple priorities, staying calm under pressure, and meeting deadlines or SLAs effectively.
- Have an understanding of smart water meter technology and its practical applications
- Are proficient in data analysis, with strong skills in Excel or similar tools.
- Have experience working with Power BI or other dashboard creation and interpretation platforms.
- Are confident in presenting and reporting, able to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
- Bring a proactive, team-oriented attitude, with the ability to take ownership of tasks while contributing to a supportive team culture.
