The Management and Leadership Training lead will oversee and actively contribute to design, deliver, and evaluate blended training programmes to develop the skills and capabilities of managers and leaders. The role combines leadership of a small team alongside hands on contribution to the training cycle. It focuses on equipping managers with the skills and tools to lead effectively, enhance team performance, and achieve organisational objectives and supporting the underpinning leadership culture at Thames Water. Specifically, this role will take the lead on delivery of phase 2 of our preferred leadership development initiative, the Living Leader, whilst also leading the implementation of a management skills learning offer. The audience base will come from across the business.
What you’ll be doing as a Management & Leadership Skills Training Lead
- Lead and manage a small team
- Take ownership of, and act as the principal expert at Thames Water for the development of management and leadership skills
- Monitor and manage the implementation and attendance of training and ensure consistency in quality across all programmes.
- Develop engaging and interactive training programmes, including workshops, webinars, and, with the support of our digital learning design team, e-learning modules
- Tailor training content to align with organisational goals, industry trends, and team-specific requirements
- Facilitate management and leadership training sessions using various instructional methods (e.g., role-plays, case studies, group discussions).
- Provide one-to-one coaching and mentoring to managers when needed within formal training environments
- Implement continuous improvement strategies based on evaluation results and feedback.
- Present reports and insights on training outcomes to senior stakeholders.
- Work closely with Learning Consultancy, People Team leads, department heads, and senior leadership to understand organisational needs.
- Advocate for a culture of continuous learning within the organisation.

Working Pattern: 36 Hours
What you should bring to the role
- Proven experience in management training & leadership development with the full remit of skills in scope, with broad experience in a senior managerial capacity
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative
- Experience designing and delivering new training programmes for large scale roll-outs in complex business environments
- Degree in Business, HR, Education or equivalent in experience
- Advanced facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Excellent communication skills
