We are looking for an Operational Compliance & Business Support to join Thames Water permanently.

You will be providing excellent administrative support to Performance Managers to enable them to meet their operational and commercial objectives, with a key focus on training and safety compliance, as well as monitoring orders to create a better view and handle of spending throughout the region.

What you will be doing as an Operational Compliance & Business Support?

  • Update, amend and maintain key databases and documents with great accuracy.
  • Track, log & monitor training expiry dates and securely store training certification.
  • Support the setup of New Starters, engaging with Suppliers and all relevant Thames departments.
  • Extract data from online Thames systems, including but not limited to Power BI, TSR and Learning on Tap, using them to create informative distributions and maintain accurate records.
  • Proactively raise risks and gaps in information provided by Supplier Teams and within DL Training.
  • Support Zero Compromise approach to Safety-related training and activities including speeding.
  • Attend Safety-focused meetings with the Thames team and Suppliers, producing informative PowerPoint slides to drive discussion and focus.
  • Collate records around Safety Briefings.
  • Monitor and support team to address actions, hazards, inspections and safety observations promptly.
  • Ensure all records are stored accurately and securely in SharePoint.
  • Create and distribute ID cards.
  • Assist with facilities issues at the site base if required for the day (e.g. deliveries and visitors)
  • Raise and track jobs for EMCOR.
  • Support the management of site meeting rooms.
  • Maintain a filing system following the raising, receipting and logging of all orders using SAP for the Team, including PPE.
  • Monitor and challenge spending.
  • Work closely with the financial department to ensure spending is accurately represented.

What should you bring to the role?

  • Be fully competent at using IT systems and Office software to analyse and manipulate data. (especially Excel)
  • Have a strong understanding of safety-critical roles and training required within the operational area of the water industry.
  • Possess an excellent eye for detail and ability to consistently produce work of a high standard.
  • Be a tenacious, organised, adaptable and resilient individual with the ability to work with confidence in a challenging and reactive environment.
  • Be comfortable liaising in a friendly, constructive and professional manner with both internal Thames Water departments as well as Stakeholders.
  • Be driven by Thames Values and consistently be looking for ways to improve and drive our Safety Compliance standards as part of a Team.
  • Driving Licence- you must be willing and able to travel to all Thames Valley depots on occasion, as necessary.
