This is an exciting role where you will be at the forefront of ensuring data and business processes for our flow monitors, including storm overflow and treated effluent, are of the highest quality. You will lead the regulatory reporting of flow data and management of our MCERTs Quality Management System (QMS).

What you’ll be doing as a EDM & Flow Manager

You will lead a team of technical specialists whose purpose is to ensure we understand our performance through the implementation of our QMS, provide quality assurance of our data, and respond to requests for information. You will work closely with our regulators and the wider industry through attendance of national working groups, as well as other internal specialists, to help shape future regulations and ensure we comply with all requirements.

  • Ensure that regulatory reporting is completed on time and to the highest quality as per legislative requirements including data on: Annual Storm Overflows, Bathing Water, Storm Overflow Near Real Time Reporting, Dry Day Spills.
  • Implement data validation and verification checks throughout the year to ensure accurate information is available for external reporting, in monthly operational performance dashboards, and long-term business planning.
  • Work with operational teams to ensure individual site monitor inspections meet the required standard and maintain accreditation.
  • Take a lead role in internal & external audits of our QMS.
  • Respond to EIRs related to flow data within agreed timescales and a high standard.
  • Attend industry and regulatory working groups related to flow data and provide concise feedback within the business on any upcoming changes to legislative requirements.
  • You will lead a team of technical specialists to deliver the regulatory requirements of flow data.

Base location: Hybrid - Clearwater Court - RG1 8DB.

Working hours: 36 hours.

What you should bring to the role

  • Experience in the external audit of management systems.
  • Experience in leading and developing Quality Management Systems.
  • An understanding of environmental permits/legislation related to flow data.
  • Knowledge of MCERT requirements relating to flow and Event Duration Monitors.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience in delivering regulatory submissions.
  • Experience in leading a team of 5-10 people and the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Ability to present technical information in an easily understandable format.
  • Competently use a variety of software packages. (e.g. Microsoft 365)
  • Understanding of site telemetry, SCADA systems is desirable.
