What will you'll be doing as a Corporate Finance Manager?

The role is within a specialist team within the company, responsible for managing a variety of financial stakeholders.  This is a unique opportunity to analyse the key financial drivers of the company, understanding and optimising outcomes for shareholders, customers, debt investors and regulators. As well as giving a holistic view of the company, this role is unique in its requirement for a broad range of skills, requiring technical ability, conceptual thinking, influencing and communication skills.

Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Assist in progressing relationships with credit rating agencies
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of credit analysis and methodology around Whole Business Securitisation
  • Develop and assess the credit impact of various initiatives to further financial resilience
  • Produce analysis for going concern and LTVS, acting as primary contact for auditors
  • Liaise with the Treasury team on financeability considerations for funding and hedging
  • Preparation of papers for the various Boards around capital structure and dividend policy
  • Ongoing review of index-linked hedging strategy
  • Act as key support for the Investor Relations team with overall responsibility for providing input into all presentations, scripts and Q&A for investor roadshows and results presentations
  • Support the Commercial Strategy team with a review of Strategic Resource Options, taking into account WBS restrictions, broader credit impacts and investor-sounding
  • Support Investor Relations and Sustainability teams with analysis and presentation of ESG narrative to investors
  • Play a critical role in shaping our approach and report for TCFD. Work with various teams alongside the Climate Change Working Group to model climate change scenarios and analyse the long-term financial impacts

What will you bring to the role?

  • Experience in developing and operating financial models
  • Strong familiarity with credit analysis and a good understanding of corporate finance principles
  • Flexible individual with a strong finance background
  • Whilst not essential, an accountancy qualification would be viewed favourably
  • Ability to think critically and commercially, with a high attention to detail, to assess business issues and opportunities
  • Influencing skills with individuals at all levels in the business, including senior management
  • Excellent communication, relationship management and presentation skills
  • High level of business awareness
  • Enthusiastic and pro-active approach
  • Experience working within the utilities sector or another regulated environment would be helpful
