We’re excited to launch a brand-new opportunity for a Senior Fraud Manager – a high-impact role focused on analysis, insight, and strategy. This is your chance to shape the future of fraud risk management at Thames Water, influencing decisions at the highest level.

What you’ll be doing as Senior Fraud Manager

  • Leading a strategic review of the fraud landscape across Thames Water and the wider utilities sector.
  • Analysing current fraud exposure and identifying systemic vulnerabilities, emerging risks, and control gaps.
  • Designing a forward-looking fraud strategy that leverages data, behavioural insights, and digital innovation.
  • Developing and embedding enterprise-wide fraud risk frameworks aligned with our central risk approach.
  • Collaborating with senior stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Digital, and Customer Services to drive strategic alignment.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to Directors, the Executive team, and external regulators.
  • Producing high-quality reporting and actionable insights to inform decision-making and governance.
  • Laying the groundwork for future capability growth, with a focus on scalable tools and intelligent controls.

Base Location: Hybrid- with regular travel to our Swindon office. (minimum 3 days per month or as required for team meetings)

Working Pattern: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm

Contract Type: Permanent | Division: Retail | Function: Customer Service.

What you should bring to the role

  • Significant experience in fraud risk analysis, strategy, and prevention – ideally in Financial Services or Utilities.
  • A proven ability to design and deliver enterprise-level fraud strategies.
  • Strong analytical and risk quantification skills, with a data-driven mindset.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and navigating complex governance environments.
  • A track record of leading change and driving strategic outcomes in ambiguous or evolving contexts.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant analytical or risk discipline.
  • Deep understanding of fraud analytics, behavioural indicators, and control frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills – able to distil complex insights into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Collaborative and credible, with the ability to influence across business areas.
  • Highly organised, intellectually curious, and detail-oriented.

Desirable:

  • Experience in Water or Utilities fraud environments.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Power BI.
