Thames Water is seeking a Technical Training Consultant to support the design, delivery, and continual improvement of our Operational Technical and Health & Safety training.
What you’ll be doing as a Technical Training Consultant
In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring our employees and contractors have the knowledge, skills and competencies to work safely, effectively, and in line with internal standards and external regulations.
- Deliver high-quality Operational, Technical and Health & Safety training with consistent standards and strong learner engagement.
- Promote strong learner engagement through effective facilitation techniques.
- Use digital systems to record learner competence and explore new, effective delivery methods.
- Review, update and maintain existing training content in line with changes to processes, legislation or equipment to keep training current.
- Explore alternative delivery mediums and collaborate with Design Studio, H&S, Operations and L&D teams to enhance learning experiences.
- Maintain active proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, Viva Engage and other communication tools.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand needs, gather feedback, and support competency development as a subject matter expert.
- Visit operational sites to see training applied in practice, identifying opportunities for improvement.
Base location: Hybrid - Wraysbury, Staines - TW19 5NR
Working hours: 36 hours, Monday to Friday
What you should bring to the role
- Experience delivering training, with a minimum Level 3 training qualification or equivalent technical experience.
- A genuine passion for sharing knowledge and supporting learner development.
- Strong communication, engagement, and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- IOSH/NEBOSH qualifications (desirable).
- Comfortable travelling across the Thames Water region.
- Full driving licence is required.
