This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team and become a subject matter expert in infrastructure charges.  The role offers the opportunity to work with other water companies in receiving and processing clean connection data and resolving customer queries following invoicing.

What you’ll be doing

We are seeking a Connections Analyst to join our team either in central Reading, Berkshire or Walnut Court, Swindon.

Your role will be to work with WOC (Water Only Companies) and external customers regarding infrastructure charges billing. To raise invoices for TW waste infrastructure charges to the relevant party as soon as is reasonably practicable upon the receipt of data from WOC.  To assist in the development and establishment of relationships with WOCs to receive on a regular basis the information we require to invoice.

Analyse the data supplied to provide an estimate of waste infrastructure charge income.  Monitor the amount invoiced for the release of accruals.  Answer customer queries and payment disputes in relation to these charges.  Report on any bad debt arising.

To cover the collation, production and issue quarterly Licence Condition D reporting to external water companies so that Thames Water satisfies its obligations under Licence Conditions C &D.  Also assisting in addressing any queries that may subsequently arise.

To take customer queries, explaining our requirements to accept payment terms in arrears.  To support the maintenance of and regularly review a register of accepted security under guidance from the Connections Manager.

You will also support with the annual statement production for customer deposits, including processing refunds, dealing directly with customer enquiries on the balances, monitoring cash payments and debt.

Assisting with the responsibility for the monthly monitoring of bulk schemes for TW delivered service connections and self-lay service connections.  Feeding into the month-end reviews meeting the finance month-end deadlines.

To support the Connections Manager in the collation of data for unit rate reviews and work mix analysis.

What you should bring to the role:

  • Experience in SAP, Data analysis, Navision, and CRM is desirable
  • Excellent standards of accuracy and attention to detail are essential
  • High level of numeracy, Data analysis and reporting
  • Customer handling experience
  • Raising invoices, refunds and creating and running reports
  • Will have extensive administration experience
  • Strong PC skills, particularly MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must have excellent organisational and time management skills
