The HRIS Specialist will play a key role as part of the People Systems team to facilitate the configuration, development and transformation of our HRIS across Thames Water. Reporting into the People Systems Manager, this role will be key to delivering value-added business outcomes and improving the employee experience. You will be responsible for the in-life management of SAP HR and ServiceNow, covering solution design, build, and issue management, seeking to optimise the cost to serve and the employee experience. You will work closely with the People Services, People Analytics and IT teams in developing and delivering our HR Data Management strategy, being accountable for all in-life functionality. As part of in-life management, you will play a key role in ensuring Thames Water continues to fully exploit and benefit from future systems developments, working across Thames Water, HR, vendors and other stakeholders.

 

What you’ll be doing as an HR Systems Specialist

  • Act as SAP HR and ServiceNow ‘Super User’ for our People systems.
  • Provide technical expertise and analytical support in the administration, implementation and execution of all information, business processes and system requirements related to the People Function
  • Ensure Incident and change requirements, including expected outcomes, are clearly documented
  • Use an agile methodology to manage the deployment of changes /update releases, including testing pre and post releases · Respond to system user queries, and train People, Managers and employees on system use
  • Act as the key interface between the People Systems team and Digital, engaging regularly on requirements and plans for delivery
  • Contribute to the development of a prioritised plan (based on business value and impact) for People service improvement across the People processes, policies, systems and contact channels
  • Lead, define and deliver systems improvements and initiatives to enhance service performance and employee experience
  • Develop communications and tools to embed change projects as necessary, working in partnership with the wider People community, communication team and business managers, and seeking feedback to drive continuous improvement
  • Work closely with the People Analytics team to ensure the accuracy and reliability of our People data by implementing preventative system controls and mechanisms to minimise data errors
  • Identify root causes of data errors, resolving system-generated issues promptly and implementing controls to prevent recurrence
  • Support the ongoing development of SAP HR system functionality and integration with other systems used, e.g. ServiceNow, SABA, etc., maximising automation as much as possible

 

Base location: Reading - Hybrid

Working pattern: 36 Hours

 

What you should bring to the role

To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:

  • Proven working experience as an HRIS Analyst or HR Data Analyst
  • Strong working knowledge of administering SAP HR / HCM
  • Demonstrable experience of implementing system changes or upgrades from requirement gathering through to post-implementation validation
  • Ability to swiftly troubleshoot issues and errors
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to challenge and influence new ways of working with differing stakeholders
  • Highly organised and responsive, with the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
  • Customer-oriented

Additional skills and experiences would be great to have/bring:

  • Agile project methodology experience
  • Comfortable with Excel formulae, Macros and VBA
  • Working knowledge/experience of implementing and or administering SuccessFactors modules
  • Working knowledge/experience of administering ServiceNow HR
