As a Commercial Administrator within our Facilities Team, you will be part of a growing, supportive and inclusive team responsible for overseeing the suppliers who manage facilities services across Thames Water offices and depots. Working closely with Facilities Managers and Quantity Surveyors, you will provide commercial and administrative support, including the review and validation of supplier Applications for Payment, maintaining accurate commercial records, and supporting financial reporting and governance processes to ensure contract compliance and effective cost control. This role offers hybrid home and office working based out of Clearwater Court in Reading, with potential progression into an Assistant Quantity Surveyor position.

What you’ll be doing as a Commercial Administrator

  • Reviewing and validating supplier Applications for Payment in line with contractual requirements.
  • Raising purchase orders and processing invoices in accordance with internal governance procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate commercial and contractual records, including trackers and cost reports
  • Supporting budget monitoring, forecasting and monthly financial reporting.
  • Liaising with facilities suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve commercial queries.
  • Assisting Facilities Managers and Quantity Surveyors with cost control and compliance activities.

Location – Hybrid Clearwater Court, Reading

Working 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:

  • Possess meticulous attention to detail & accuracy.
  • Have strong numeracy skills.
  • Have excellent communication skills with an ability to articulate key issues effectively.
  • Have excellent IT skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and have the ability to pick up the use of multiple IT systems/software.
  • Be able to work independently whilst delivering highly influential business tasks.
  • Have excellent time management skills in the completion of key tasks within set deadlines.
