We are looking for a Water Efficiency & Optimisation Specialist to join Thames Water on a permanent basis.
You will identify, lead and drive the implementation of optimisation and efficiency projects within the Water business unit by collaborating with frontline teams, operational management, and the supply chain. This role involves engaging stakeholders to develop clear delivery plans, resolving blockers, and providing progress updates.
There will be on-site, depot, and office visits to drive efficiencies; therefore, there is a level of flexibility required to manage workflow across the Thames Water estate.
What you will be doing as a Water Efficiency & Optimisation Specialist:
- Maintain a strong focus on Health & Safety for yourself and others, ensuring it is embedded in all activities and reporting any risks or concerns promptly.
- Plan, manage, and deliver projects by defining scope, objectives, timelines, resources, and key deliverables.
- Provide consistent updates on progress, including milestones achieved, challenges encountered, and upcoming actions.
- Follow agreed governance processes, proactively managing risks and working closely with PMO to ensure effective delivery.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks to support successful project outcomes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and execute plans, ensuring alignment and engagement throughout.
- Source, analyse, and validate data from systems such as SCADA, GIS, Salesforce, and SAP to support decision-making.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track KPIs and measure efficiency improvements.
- Present insights clearly to stakeholders, enabling informed and strategic decisions.
- Capture and report benefits using the agreed efficiency model, ensuring alignment with finance approvals.
- Remain commercially aware, ensuring all work delivers value and supports organisational goals.
- Engage regularly with field teams to promote a culture of efficiency, capturing ideas and sharing outcomes.
What should you bring to the team
- Proactive and driven, with a strong ability to move projects forward and deliver results
- Highly effective at stakeholder engagement, building and maintaining strong working relationships
- Proven track record of delivery within operational environments, with a solid understanding of Water Operations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply data insights
- Collaborative team player who engages effectively to achieve shared goals
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications
- Hold a full UK, clean driving licence
