As a Capacity Analyst at Thames Water, you’ll play an important role in helping our operational teams deliver excellent service to millions of customers every day. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, spotting trends, solving problems and turning insight into meaningful action. You’ll be part of a supportive team where your analysis will help shape planning, improve efficiency and support frontline operations across the business.

What you’ll be doing as a Capacity Analyst

  • Building and maintaining forecasting and capacity planning models to support operational demand
  • Analysing work volumes and resourcing trends to help teams plan effectively
  • Creating and improving Power BI reports and dashboards for stakeholders across the business
  • Working with large data sets from different internal and external systems
  • Providing insight and recommendations based on data analysis and operational performance
  • Collaborating closely with field teams, analysts and internal stakeholders to explain reports and support decision making
  • Supporting ad hoc analysis requests and helping identify opportunities for continuous improvement

Base location: Hybrid – Kemble Court, Reading, with a minimum of one day a week in the office (each Tuesday)

Working hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, flexible between 8 am and 5 pm

What you should bring to the role

  • Experience creating data visualisations to support data-led decision making
  • Experience using Power BI to design and build reports
  • Good Excel skills and confidence working with Microsoft Office tools
  • Confidence engaging with stakeholders and communicating insights clearly
  • Ability to analyse trends, identify irregularities and work with large data sets
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, SAP BO/ECC or previous utilities/capacity planning experience would be beneficial but is not essential
