About the role:

You will maintain the efficient operation of a sludge treatment Thermal Hydrolysis Plant (THP), steam generator and sewage treatment works, carrying out sampling activities through work being generated through hand-held devices. Working as part of a small team, you will be required to carry out routine operations and basic process maintenance at various treatment works across Crawley sewage treatment works.

You will be required to:

  • Clean and operate of a range of plant and equipment associated with the sewage treatment process.
  • Sampling and fault finding as required.
  • Quality testing, optimisation and maintenance.
  • Monitor, collate and report data to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance is met.
  • Undertake safety and security checks.

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

The successful candidate will ideally have an understanding of sewage and sludge treatment processes and front line maintenance; however, training will be given as required.

Duties involve the collection and recording of monitoring data in accordance with quality procedures and therefore the ability to write clearly and concisely is essential.

You will be competent at using the appropriate company IT systems and office software as well as open to learning new systems and procedures.

You must be able to demonstrate previous work experience both within a team and alone.

As you will be driving to and from sites, a full UK current driving licence is also essential.
