About the role:

The Wholesale Market Services team are looking for a commercially minded, data curious, Data Analyst to identify data issues through reporting, reconciliations and analysis using technical skills (SQL) and lead resolution through appropriate process and stakeholder engagement.

As part of the role you will automate data fixes and updates through scripting to enhance data accuracy and integrity while continuously driving operational efficiencies, automating process wherever possible.

You will be required to monitor, analyse, interpret, report and audit data flows between internal systems and the Open Water Market, all the while increasing awareness of the impact of poor data and drive improvements across the business.

You will ensure market transactional integrity is maintained through process and system improvement, analysis and stakeholder engagement.

This role will involve:

  • Identifying and spot-fixing data/transactional issues at source.
  • Developing and enhancing existing scripts to update source systems increasing accuracy and efficiency.
  • Recommending changes to systems to increases levels of automation, and increase efficiency.
  • Taking ownership of issues from identification to completion.
  • Proactive holistic monitoring of information indicating overall business health.
  • Galvanising multi-functional, cross-discipline teams to resolve problems.

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

We are seeking an individual with proven experience working with complex systems, performing data cleanses and bulk updates to systems through scripting, data analysis methods and techniques, excellent data analyst skills and the following in their tool box:

  • Microsoft Office (mandatory)
  • VB Scripting (mandatory)
  • SQL (mandatory)
  • Infosphere and DB2 (desirable)
  • Microsoft Dynamics (desirable)

Attention to detail is absolutely crucial in this role.

Familiarity with the UK non-household competitive water market would be a distinct bonus, but not essential – If you come from a background working with billing systems in the utilities, banking or telecoms sectors then this would also be an advantage.
