About the role:

You will be responsible for carrying out the planned and defect maintenance of FLIP (Active Drainage Anti Flooding) devices throughout the Thames Water area. You will inspect, fault diagnose and maintain devices fitted at properties, in a safe efficient, timely and effective manner with minimum supervision.

You will be required to:

  • Carry out routine planned preventative and reactive maintenance of Active drainage Flip devices.
  • Carry out electrical or mechanical installation work at properties and sites at which Flip devices are installed.
  • Trouble shooting electrical and mechanical fault finding whilst providing specialist technical advice where appropriate with up-to-date technical knowledge, and provide training support for technical trainees.
  • Liaising with external customers at properties at which Flip devices are installed.

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

Are you a qualified electrician and who has electrical experience working on industrial plant equipment? Have you completed an apprenticeship, or have a BTEC HNC or equivalent in an electrical subject? To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate that you are an experienced Electrical Engineer.

This is a manual role, therefore it is essential that you are physically fit and prepared to work in a challenging environment on a daily basis. We are looking for an apprenticeship-served, 17th edition electrician. Due to the nature of this role domestic experience is not suitable. You must have the ability to work with minimum supervision and have knowledge of health and safety issues ideally relevant to the water industry.

A full, UK driving licence is essential.
