About the role:

As the Head of Asset Management, Energy and Maintenance Strategy, you will be leading the development and use of our Asset Standards including EMS, OMS, Site Operating Manuals and Maintenance Strategy. The role will include the technical delivery of energy team to ensure energy and our net zero targets are built in across our asset standards and maintenance strategy.  You will be responsible for 40 members of staff along with providing support to third parties as required.

As part of our Asset Standards, you will be responsible for the Proactive Planned Preventative Maintenance Strategy with the requirement to extend mean time to failures and increase the proportion of proactive maintenance in Operations with a context of asset criticality and risk management. You will co-ordinate practice groups and community of practice as required to embed a culture of continuous improvement into corporate standards.

Working closely with both the Head of Engineering and Head of RD&I, this position gives you the opportunity to lead the strategy to on net carbon emissions.

Key areas of accountability will include:

  • Own the Asset standards including AMS, EMS and OMS.
  • Develop the Proactive Planned Preventative Maintenance strategy for our business based on asset criticality.
  • Drive the energy strategy to move towards net zero emissions by 2030.
  • Manage the Practice groups and Community of Practices responsible for continuous improvement of our asset documentation.
  • Approval of changes to the Asset Standard documentation.
  • Work in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure capital standards are consistent with our operational strategy and needs.

To be successful, you will have the following skills and experience:

An experienced manager within the water industry who has previous involvement with sludge and/or energy management is desirable.

Robust understanding of the regulatory environment.

The ability to forge strong working relationships.

The ability to role model collaborative behaviours and influence colleagues.

Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Strong experience in budget management.

Educated to degree level or equivalent with a postgraduate qualification, preferably with a professional chartership with operational focus.

You will have a passion for continuous professional development and an active approach to driving diversity within the company.
