About the role:

As a Data Analyst, you will create and maintain the master data for water and wastewater network assets in corporate systems.

You will need to provide management information, analysis and commentary to enable the department or other customers to make informed business decisions which may include sourcing and maintaining data as a resource for future reference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide management reports and presentations, collecting and analysing complex technical data with expert commentary, advice, and recommendations, as appropriate.
  • Design and deliver elements of technical solutions, as directed.
  • Conduct research to find data to support the needs of the team or department and manipulate it as necessary to provide useful information.
  • Support the department by liaising or attending meetings with key internal and external stakeholders, as required.
  • Engage with the business to improve the quality and quantity of asset data flows to the corporate GIS.
  • Govern and maintain water and wastewater network asset data within corporate systems such as PiWadis, SAP PM and GIS.
  • Respond to internal/external questions relating to data contained within corporate systems.

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

We are looking for someone who has experience in a similar role as a data analyst or equivalent, preferably within the water or utility industry. Ideally, you will have worked on data maintenance, data improvement or similar projects and understand the necessity of accurate and up to date data.

To be successful in this role, you will be comfortable with gathering requirements from different business user groups. Ideally, you will have exceptional verbal and written skills being able to communicate technical specifications to non-technical business users in a clear and effective style.

From experience you will be able to build and document data to information processes through; investigating divergent data sets, identifying gaps, proposing solutions and be able to test effective delivery through software testing practice.

To be considered for this role you will have experience in solution build software (MS Access, SAP Business Objects and ArcGIS would be advantageous). You will be fully literate in MS Office with advanced Excel and have a keen aptitude for new systems.
