About the role: 

The main purpose of this role is to plan and administrate the activities for the various workstreams that are delivered through the Network Asset Maintenance Team. This includes the planning for excavation repair and maintenance of Network Metering assets (district/zonal meters, CPP’s, High consequence valves and network maintenance assets) as well as technical planning for other workstreams including trunk mains, special projects, and hydro guard technicians, as well as trunks mains leakage detection programmes and projects including Sahara Surveys.

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Ensure all Network Asset Maintenance Activities are planned out in a timely and efficient manner taking into consideration best practice of water network asset standards, notification, and traffic management policies, as well as departmental KPIs and targets.
  • To provide information regarding the progress of ongoing works to our customers and update all relevant communicational tools with the appropriate detail.
  • Liaise with various delivery partners to ensure work is completed within set timescales.
  • Assist in achieving a planning and maintenance service that is delivered to time, cost and quality standards.
  • Support and co-ordinate the work of others within the team, including that of our IA partners and service providers when required.
  • Co-ordinate traffic management plans and highway authority permits, liaising with all highway authorities to ensure permits are promptly and sufficiently granted.

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience: 

  • To be considered for this role, we are looking for someone who has good knowledge of water network maintenance procedures, as well as knowledge of Thames Water ‘street works’ and permitting processes.
  • The successful candidate will have at least two years’ work experience in a planning environment, and ideally have experience in inappropriate IT systems, including Insight, GIS, Zone 1, Vistec, SAP and PI suite. 
  • In addition, they will possess the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels of the business and will be confident to attend and contribute to meetings. 
  • Full clean driving licence or ability to travel may be required to attend meetings.
