About the role:

As an Asset Management Project Manager, you will lead, support and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions and procure and deliver the resulting projects to achieve best whole life value for Thames Water.

You will be responsible for managing individual study project budgets of variable size around £5m+.

Key areas of accountability will include:  

  • Develop best value solutions to briefed studies and projects.
  • Build and lead high performing project teams.
  • Apply commercial acumen in managing contractors and suppliers to deliver best value solutions to agreed programmes.
  • Drive constantly improving health, safety and environmental performance through portfolio of assigned projects.
  • Initiate and develop communication and good relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, with the aim of delighting our customers.

To be successful, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • A technical degree or equivalent; preferably at or nearing chartered Engineer/Scientist status.
  • A track record in project delivery, including experience in scoping studies, design and/or contract management.
  • Demonstratable ability to deliver projects to meet both commercial and technical objectives.
  • Motivation and drive to deliver.
  • Ability to analyse data and make decisions on partial information.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong inter-personal skills.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Strong Influencing/negotiating skills.
  • Good planning and estimating skills.
  • Fully competent at using the appropriate Company IT systems and Office software.
  • Travel to key business sites will be required and therefore a full driving licence is essential.
