About the role: 

Are you an accomplished Change Director who is ready to support our new and inspiring Water Networks Transformation Director to set the direction for change?  This is a fantastic opportunity to fundamentally change how we operate and set ourselves up for future success. You will lead and manage the Water Network Transformation (WNTX) Change Management Stream and provide expert change management guidance, advice and support to the Transformation programme and projects, ensuring the business and employees are ready, willing and able to accept the changes into their working lives and deliver the WNTX outcomes. 

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Develop and implement the WNTX Change Management Strategy and journey, ensuring it is fit for purpose and aligns with the business, programme and project outcomes, regularly obtaining input and feedback from stakeholders across the business
  • Coach and develop senior leaders to lift capability and understanding of transformation and change management including business readiness “best practice" across the organisation
  • Coach business-aligned change managers to develop and execute effective change plans for their area of responsibility
  • Monitor change readiness/risks and drive the facilitation and implementation of mitigating actions such as liaising with Workstream Leads to track the effectiveness of change plans and agree on interventions needed to address gaps or challenges
  • Manage a small team of Change Managers and Analysts ensuring a culture of high performance, stakeholder engagement and customer-centricity
  • Design, implement and take ownership of the WNTX branding and communications strategy and plan. Ensure consistency in approach across the programme and alignment with Corporate Communications

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience: 

  • Proven success in a similar role within a large capital-intensive type industry such as Utilities or Manufacturing - used to driving and coordinating multiple change programmes across a large complex organisation
  • Implemented change of an end to end process - ideally an operating model or cost transformation change programme
  • Keeping calm, adapting and responding to change and events which are inevitable in an operational business
  • Understand the needs of our internal and external customers, handling situations in a sensitive way with strong communication skills
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Demonstrable negotiation experience
  • Senior Leadership Team experience, influencing and coaching senior stakeholders and your team through change
  • Offer solutions with a natural problem-solving mentality
  • Shows initiative with a desire for change and making a difference
  • Positive outlook and optimistic disposition
  • Highly organised with a professional, agile and diligent nature
  • Degree level or equivalent in a Business or Professional (e.g. Engineering) Discipline would be desirable with additional relevant qualifications e.g. Change, Programme or Project management qualifications.
