About the role:

The Supplier Relationship Management Lead will be an IT service management professional with responsibility for supporting the supplier management function, framework, and all associated activities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the supplier management framework and supplier management lifecycle, ensuring that the supplier management process is consistently followed and compliant
  • Support the maintenance of supplier contracts and information within the supplier and contract management information systems
  • Service management: support other service management processes and activities to support the delivery of BAU including incident management, event management, problem management, change management, capacity management, continuity management and availability management
  • Reporting: support the provision of regular, transparent and accurate reporting on all supplier management activities against agreed KPIs and performance criteria
  • Financial management: Consolidation and re-negotiation of supplier opportunities to ensure best service and financial outcomes for the business
  • Manage and lead supplier relationships, including regularly scheduled performance reviews and re-negotiations
  • Risk Management: work in collaboration with the operational risk and compliance manager to identify risks and issues that arise from the supplier management process
  • Continual Improvement: assist in developing and making recommendations and own supplier management CI activities to improve overall process delivery
  • Maintain and manage supplier contracts, documents, and purchasing materials in the Service Management Information System
  • Contract review and drafting, ensuring terms, conditions, SLAs and KPIs are relevant and measurable; and that the contract achieves best outcomes for Thames Water whilst supporting our Digital strategy
  • Contract administration and management including contract governance, performance, escalation processes, risk management, issues resolution, financial management, change control and compliance

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Significant experience in supplier/vendor management, with a demonstrated capability in contract delivery management
  • Ability to develop and leverage strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent in customer service techniques and stakeholder management
  • Proven ability to listen and influence
  • Excellent planning, communication and presentation skills, within and across teams, up through executive channels and across third parties
  • Experienced negotiator with proven ability to broker optimal situations across stakeholder groups and 3rd parties while generating support and buy-in
  • Ability to manage budgets, costs and governance
  • Significant experience in an IT operational environment
  • Knowledge of - and adherence to - ITIL/ITSM standards
  • Flexible approach to a fast-paced, ever-evolving and pressurised environment
  • ITIL certifications or equivalent
  • Certificate/Diploma in supplier management
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Understanding of OJEU procurement regulations
