About the role:

To develop and maintain a first-class management accounting, reporting & business partnering service in line with business objectives and changes to financial and regulatory reporting frameworks.

Supporting the Finance Manager & collaborating with a range of stakeholders you will drive continuous improvement in financial processes and provide support on other change projects. This role has a balance of transactional and business partnering duties so previous experience in a similar role is highly advantageous.

  • Play a key role in the accounting & reporting activities of the customer operations division, including budgeting and forecasting processes. Ensure control over the income statement, cash flow and balance sheet through regular reconciliation, review and challenge over assumptions and judgements.
  • Acting as a business partner to senior management within the customer operations division to provide financial insight and analysis to support operational decisions & linking financial reports to business strategies.
  • The timely and accurate production of management accounting information (including budgeting and forecasting) within required timescales and to high quality, ensuring performance commentary includes actions required to maintain or improve future financial performance.
  • On-going improvement of the financial control environment, through facilitating the documentation of all processes to facilitate business continuity, identification of opportunities to improve financial reporting systems and controls, evaluating the effectiveness of controls, and drafting appropriate recommendations for rectifying control weaknesses and implementing processes improvements.
  • Improve understanding of the relationship between activity, operational performance and cost, and assisting the Finance Manager in setting a plan that achieves operational and financial objectives.
  • Contribute & deliver projects to meet Finance or wider business objectives.

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Qualified chartered accountant (CIMA/ACCA or ACA) with up-to-date financial reporting knowledge (IFRS) and on-hand experience in using the organisation's key financial systems (currently SAP, Excel and HFM);
  • The ability to liaise at all levels of the business with ease with strong written and verbal communications skills, as maintaining and building working relationships with key stakeholders is critical in this position;
  • Experience of working in a team towards a common objective along with strong organisational skills and experience of working towards tight deadlines in a fast-paced working environment; and
  • A sound comprehension of finance & business models including their application in meeting business requirements.
  • An inquisitive mindset with excellent organisational skills
  • Proactively seeks opportunities for process improvement
  • Deadline driven, with an eye for detail.
